The Secret Society of Drumming (SSOD) is the brainchild of 3 musicians, Amrut Bhat, Smaran Savanal and Amilo D’Cruz who met at a drum circle and sought to create an avenue for good LIVE extempore music. They were later joined by Vijay Durbha, Chintan Vyas and Sachin Khasgiwala.
Amrut brings the tribal flavour in the group with his West African drumming skills. He plays the djembe, dun dun, cajon and other ethnic percussions. His beats match the heartbeats of the audience!.

All we have to do is stop and listen.
Amilo D’Cruz is a guitarist, singer and songwriter. He also plays the timbale and thereby brings in a western influence which adds to the ensemble. His music reflects rock n roll, classic rock, metal and blues. He has been performing at various venues for over eight years.
Vijay Durbha is an accomplished ‘New Age’ singer and songwriter. He has composed and produced music with renowned artists. He is also proficient at playing the djembe, cajon, hapi and the octopad. He believes that music translates everything for our ears and our hearts.

It will also eventually serve as a Shangri la for those who are keen to learn as well listen to good extempore music. Hence this is a closed, niche group and members are added by invite only. In this manner, the admins wish to ensure that the group remains healthy and vibrant with like minded people.
