Wheels On Our Feet

Deepa and Jayanta, married for almost a decade, are still far from a life of peaceful co-existence, thanks to their differing opinions/ interpretations and near-constant bickering. The only thing that has been instrumental in keeping their marriage steady this far is their love for travel and food. Both of them love both of these. Relations and friends accuse them of having ‘wheels on their feet’ because of their frequent escapades. And that was the genesis of their travel blog, Wheels On Our Feet – to share wonderful travel and food experiences from around the country and globe. -- Visit https://www.wheelsonourfeet.com/ to read more articles by them.

Bandra’s Bungalows, a fast-disappearing heritage

This is a guest post by Wheels on our feet. Tucked inside the little lanes of Bandra are these old gems — one little cosy, charming bungalow after every 2-3 concrete highrise. Still standing amidst trees as old as them or perhaps, older, these bungalows are a silent testimony of the times that we have lost to ‘development/concretisation’. We looked …

DESI DELI Review

Desi Deli at Bandra Reclamation, is one of the latest deli to enter the already spoilt-for-choice Bandra eating-out space. A tiny place with just about 7-8 tables that can take probably 20-22 people at a time, Desi Deli is located bang opposite Salt Water Grill at Bandra Reclamation. Despite the space limitation, they have done up the place with nice …

RESTAURANT REVIEW: MAMAGOTO

The bustling Hill Road in Bandra spoils you for choice, doesn’t it? There during lunch hours yesterday, we choose Mamagoto. Located where Nature’s Basket used to be, Mamagoto is not difficult to find. And it has a big bright yellow door to catch your attention. Done up with mix and match furniture, oriental paintings, nice lighting and quirky décor items, …

Sassy Spoon reviewed by wheels on our feet.

Despite hearing so much about the Sassy Spoon in Nariman Point, we haven’t had the time/opportunity to dine there. Blame it on our crazy schedules. It recently opened another outlet in Bandra, and this time round, since we frequent Bandra more frequently, we went there for lunch. How is the ambience & service at Sassy Spoon Bandra? Sassy and so charming, …

RESTAURANT REVIEW: INDIGO DELI IN BANDRA.

Last evening, we needed, very badly, to save ourselves from Bandra’s infamous Sunday-evening traffic. We were in Pali Naka. Ah, how about Indigo Deli? Yes, Indigo Deli – one of our most favourite restaurant chains in Mumbai. And so, what was meant to be a SOS, also turned out to be a good, deserving, nicely laid out evening and dinner. …

RESTAURANT REVIEW: SALT WATER CAFE.

6 o’clock. Friday evening. And we were stuck in BKC. But of course! What do you expect. Jayanta was waiting for us at the Four Seasons in Worli and we had planned for a dinner at someplace good in Lower Parel. When at 6.30, we were still at BKC, i asked him to come over to Bandra. Midway was better …

RESTAURANT REVIEW: PALI VILLAGE CAFÉ.

The last time we went to Pali Village Café was on Christmas Eve in 2011. And had loved the place. Excellent ambience and good food made it the perfect reason to cheer about. Went there last Saturday for lunch, with the hangover of that evening. And came out majorly disappointed. Find out why… Ambience & Service at Pali Village Café …

Restaurant Review: Imbiss – Meating Joint.

[box] The article was originally posted on  – wheelsonourfeet.com, Memoirs of the warring couple, Deepa and Jayanta, who agree only on travel and food.[/box] Meat Lovers in Mumbai, Here is paradise! Imbiss in Bandra! For someone who craves for meat and more meat, there are very few options that offer excellent and reasonably priced beef and pork dishes in Mumbai. Until we discovered …

Review of biryani by air.

[box] The article was originally posted on  – wheelsonourfeet.com, Memoirs of the warring couple, Deepa and Jayanta, who agree only on travel and food.[/box] Friends and strangers have long enquired for the best Hyderabadi biryani in Mumbai, and frankly, we didn’t have any worthwhile name to recommend. Until we stumbled upon BiryanibyAir in Pali Hill, Bandra. They actually fly Biryani from Hyderabad!!! It …

Restaurant Review — Jumjoji, A Parsi Diner.

[box] The article was originally posted on  – wheelsonourfeet.com, Memoirs of the warring couple, Deepa and Jayanta, who agree only on travel and food[/box] . I will start by mentioning the quotes they have used to do up the place — they find a place in the menu card and walls … a very interesting joint with fantastic quotes on the wall. Lively …
