Rise N Shine – the event solely dedicated to children’s health took place yesterday at Mount Mary School, Bandra West, Mumbai. The school grounds and its air-conditioned hall were decked out to welcome children and parents to enjoy a day of fun activities, fitness and organic food products. The hosts – celebrity couple Preeti Jhangiani, ParvinDabas, along with Sucheta Kaushik and Karishma Hingorani welcomed Shri Ashish Shelar,MLA Vandre(w) and BJP Mumbai President, who inaugurated the event by cutting a ribbon and breaking the auspicious coconut at the School’s main entrance.
This is one-of-a-kind event for children aimed to increase awareness, achieve great health and contentment for Mumbai’s new age nuclear families. The activities, workshops and the bazaar at the event werecarefully put together to enable young parents to inculcate healthy habits in their little ones in a fun way.
The event was well attended with socialites and celebrities like Daboo and Manisha Ratnani, Anu Gupta, Kitu Gidwani, Pooja Rizvi and a host of Pali Hill’s cool parents. 200 children and approximately 300 adults attended the event. Mansi Zaveri founder of the premier Indian parenting website KidsStopPress also attended the event with her little ones.
The first yoga session was dedicated to underprivileged children fromNGO Angel Express Foundation, who arrived on time, neatly dressed in their blue uniforms. The yoga sessions were tailored to make childrenenjoy exercising by engaging them with props and nursery rhymes.
The hosts welcomed celebrity Chef Vicky Ratnani to the event while children and parents waited eagerly to attend his master class on healthy cooking. His Sous Chef distributed recipes while Vicky engaged with his audience and got the show going. Chef Vicky Ratnani quizzed parents about what they send in their kids’ lunch packs and mentioned several healthy variations of his healthy recipes that were easy to cook too.
A few other activities that kept children busy throughout the day included an educative puppet show, the wonder-filled world of bugs conducted by Academy of Earth Sustainability, know your veggies by making finger puppets and several others.
The organic bazaar was filled with scrumptious treats like gluten free Zucca loaves, red rice dosas and beetroot khakhras. The Mumbai Organic Farmers’ Market brought organic cotton clothing, fresh micro-greens, kale crisps and eco-friendly tableware too. Also, the hosts were pleased to have collaborated with Jus Divine juices and The Nibble Box who supplied organic nibbles and juices to the children attending the yoga and the master class.
The highlight for kids was the presence of Dora in the event who was there giving out Nickelodeon goodies and posing for pictures too.
The winning concept of the event and the overwhelming positive feedback from parents definitely call for a sequel that would be further more informative and fun.
